Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine told that the meeting was attended by General Prosecutor Yuri Lutsenko, Deputy General Prosecutor Yevgeniy Yenin, other officials of Ukrainian general prosecutor’s office, Azerbaijani ambassador to Ukraine Azer Khudiyev, Azerbaijani Interior Ministry’s representative in Ukraine, Colonel Shahin Gojayev, Chairman of the United Ukrainian Azerbaijanis Congress Rovshan Tagiyev and Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Congress Akif Gulmammadov.

Expressing concern about crimes against Azerbaijanis in Ukraine, Azer Khudiyev asked Yuri Lutsenko to take these crimes under serious control. He said some are interested in breaking friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine and proposed to create an investigative group to solve the kidnapping and other crimes against Azerbaijanis.

Azerbaijani Interior Ministry`s representative in Ukraine Gojayev gave thorough information about the facts of crimes committed against the Azerbaijanis in Ukraine since 2014 until now.

Chairman of the United Congress of Azerbaijanis of Ukraine Rovshan Taghiyev and Chairman of the Congress’s Supreme Assembly Akif Gulmammadov said that Ukraine’s Interior Ministry and other relevant authorities were formally appealed repeatedly, but no measure has been taken in this regard. Lutsenko gave strict instructions to the participating operative investigation team of the prosecutor`s office to investigate the crimes committed against the Azerbaijanis and take the issue under strict control.

Noting that he has been invited for an official visit to Azerbaijan by the country’s General Prosecutor Zakir Garalov, Lutsenko stressed that he won’t visit Azerbaijan until the crimes committed against the Azerbaijanis in Ukraine are solved. He expressed confidence that the criminal group will soon be arrested and after this, he will visit to our country. During the meeting, the participants widely discussed the strengthening of relations between the two countries and creation of a joint investigation team against crime.
