Three bodies belonging to a Syrian refugee woman and her two underage daughters have been found in a freezer in the southern Danish town of Aabenraa, media reported Monday.

“Police gained access to the residence, where the three bodies were found in a freezer. The woman’s husband, and thus the children’s father, was not in the apartment and is now sought by police,” Southern Jutland Police wrote, as quoted by the Local news agency. Police added that they started searching for the woman and her daughters after receiving a call from a relative who told police that they had been out of reach for several days. The woman was 27 years-old of age and her two daughters were seven and nine. The family arrived in Denmark in the summer of 2015 and they managed to receive a refugee status.
