The Egyptian president too asked the Azerbaijani FM to convey his greetings and best wishes to the Azerbaijani president.
During the meeting, the sides hailed the cooperation and mutual support between the two countries within international organizations.
Abdel Fattah al-Sisi praised Azerbaijan’s tradition of tolerance and multiculturalism, stressing the importance of Islamic solidarity. The two sides held that Islam is a religion of peace, solidarity, and tolerance.
Mammadyarov, in turn, mentioned that next year Azerbaijan will host the Islamic Solidarity Games and invited Egyptian athletes to participate in the major sporting event.
He spoke about the country`s contribution to the strengthening of dialogue among cultures and civilizations.
During the meeting they discussed issues of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt, praising the 6-year-old energy cooperation between SOCAR and EGPC.
The sides then exchanged their views on ways of developing relations in various areas.
