The ambassador reminded that the last session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation took place in Rome June 13, 2016.
The diplomat added that the Italian foreign minister will have an intense program of high level meetings with the government of Azerbaijan.
A wide range of bilateral and international issues, also in view of Italy`s OSCE Presidency in 2018, as well as the incoming G7 Chairmanship (2017) and membership in the UN Security Council (2017), are to be discussed at the meetings.
According to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee, trade turnover between Italy and Azerbaijan amounted to $1.444 billion as of January-September 2016.
