Altay Afandiyev, ambassador and secretary general of GUAM, paid a visit to TRACECA headquarters upon the invitation of TRACECA Secretary General Mircea Ciopraga, the TRACECA Permanent Secretariat of Intergovernmental Commission said on its website Nov. 7.
Main point of discussion was seeking new ways for collaboration taking into consideration the advantageous geographical and strategic position of the countries of GUAM, which are also members to TRACECA.
TRACECA is an international cooperation program in the sphere of transport among the EU and partner-countries in Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia. The organization has a permanent secretariat in Baku.
TRACECA member-states are Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Iran.
TRACECA, GUAM to prepare co-op memorandum

The Transport Corridor Europe Caucasus Asia (TRACECA) and the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova) have agreed to develop and prepare a memorandum on mutual cooperation.
