EU chiefs invite Trump to summit to discuss next four years

Donald Tusk and Jean-Claude Juncker congratulated Donald Trump with his victory in the US presidential election.

European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker congratulated Donald Trump with his victory in the US presidential election Wednesday, inviting him to chart the course of bilateral ties in the next four years.

"We would take this opportunity to invite you to visit Europe for an EU — US Summit at your earliest convenience. This conversation would allow for us to chart the course of our relations for the next four years," Tusk and Juncker said in a congratulatory letter to Trump.
