`Azerbaijan establishes better relations with republican administrations in US`
It is not a secret that Azerbaijan establishes better relations with republican administrations in the United States and mutual understanding becomes at higher level, Novruz Mammadov, deputy head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, chief of the administration’s foreign relations department said on November 12.
He noted that the U.S. Democratic Party uses notion of human rights and democracy for their own proposes: “I and anyone don’t protest that human rights, democracy should be the main way of development. However, in case the powerful uses this for its own proposes, it cannot achieve its goal. The democrats use it excessively. But Republicans give priority to their economic, political and security interests. We cooperate with them better in implementation of large projects within NATO and mutual understanding becomes at higher level”.

Mammadov reminded that Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev said ni his letter sent to the new US president Donald Trump that the two countries have good relations for 25 years: “We have cooperated in all spheres well. Our cooperation in several spheres raised to the strategic level. Of course, there were certain problems during these years. We think our relations will develop further. For this purpose, we have a good position and an argument. There is not any ground for worsening of our relations. The fundament of the relations is good. An additional advantage is that relations with republicans are always better. The negative point is that state secretary of the current administration did not make a normal statement expressing America’s position as a co-chair. This shows that his position is the same with what was in 1990 and this is very bad. View of the state secretary on the Karabakh issue was negative and crafty. Therefore, along with stressing the high level of relations, the Azerbaijani president’s letter hints that the US is to contribute to the settlement of the conflict.”
