Azerbaijan urges US to ramp up efforts to settle Karabakh conflict
The US, together with other OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries, should ramp up efforts to resolve the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.

The FM made the remarks during a meeting with US Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Bridget Brink in Baku on Nov. 22, the ministry’s press service told AzVision.az.

Mammadyarov thoroughly informed Brink about the negotiation process on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Moreover, the sides expressed their content with Azerbaijan and the US cooperating successfully in the areas of economy, energy, counterterrorism, peacekeeping operations, etc, emphasizing the necessity of further development of bilateral ties.

Bridget Brink said she had an efficient talk with President Ilham Aliyev, noting that her country gives huge importance to bilateral ties with Azerbaijan.

She said Azerbaijan’s contribution to the peacekeeping operation in Afghanistan and to combating terrorism is highly appreciated by the US government.

Mammadyarov spoke about the transport and energy projects that are being implemented on the initiative and with the participation of Azerbaijan and said the support from the US for the implementation of these projects is praiseworthy.

The sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
