Ceremony to honor deceased Fidel Castro starts in Cuban Capital

Ceremony to honor deceased Fidel Castro starts in Cuban Capital

The ceremony to honor the deceased leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro began in Havana, involving numerous foreign senior officials and delegations.

The ceremony takes place at the Revolution Square near the Jose Marti Memorial. The site has already been visited by several million people, who wanted to pay their last tribute to the Cuban comandante. The ceremony is broadcast live.

Castro passed away on November 25 at the age of 90, as announced by his brother, incumbent Cuban President Raul Castro. Cuba received many condolences over Fidel Castro`s death from leaders around the world. A funeral ceremony has been scheduled for December 4, and will be held at a cemetery in Santiago de Cuba.
