Clashes in Armenia
Some 14 people were brought to the medical center with various injuries as the result of the clashes that took place Jan.16 in the Armenian city of Gyumri, Armenian media reported.
Armenian media said that police officers are in the most serious condition, and the majority of citizens received ambulatory care and went home.

It is reported that the two of the police officers received head injuries. They were given computed tomography. One of them is in the intensive care unti in critical condition.

A reporter with one of the Armenian news agencies was also injured as a result of the clashes. The reporter suffered a leg injury due to an explosion.

Riots in Gyumri began after six members of one family were killed January 12 by shots from the gun. The sole survivor, a six-month child, has been operated on and is now in intensive care.

A Russian conscript, Valeri Permyakov is suspected of committing the crime, according to preliminary data. On January 12, he left his military unit without permission, and is wanted for questioning in connection with the murders. On January 13, Permyakov was detained by border guards while trying to illegally cross the border with Turkey. Investigative Committee of Armenia decided to make Permyakov, who previously admitted his guilt, the accused in the case.
