The Minister added that Turkey and Russia started negotiations to make payments for natural gas in TRY: “We are threatened behind the closed doors. However, we are afraid of nothing. Generally, Turkey starts trading with natural gas exporting countries in national currency. This is an important issue. We have already started negotiations with Russia”.
Turkish BOTAS imported 6.17 billion cubic meters of gas last year, but intends to purchase 6.5 bcm this year.
