"If we fight terrorism, we must oppose all of its kinds and forms, but a selective approach, in many cases, contributes to its spreading," Muradova said.
"Azerbaijan has been facing such an approach in the international arena for many years,” she said. “So, the country understands it better than others. This is a serious message to the Islamic world and Muslims."
She reminded that in the history there have always been facts of confrontation between the Islamic and Christian worlds, and there are circles interested in it.
"Unfortunately, the situation experienced by the humanity in the past occurs nowadays,” she said. “All people, regardless of faith, race, ethnic origin, political opinions and countries of residence must be concerned about this. In particular, I think that the politicians, public figures and statesmen face with big tasks in this regard."
Muradova also said that at present, there are victims of terrorism in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Egypt and other Arab and African countries, and their number hits thousands, tens of thousands, or even millions.
"Instead of the Christian world’s opposing this together with the Islamic world, some Western countries prefer to participate in happenings where Muslims are killed,” she said.
“They support forming, financing and providing the terrorist groups with arms in the country to overthrow the unfavorable regime. If today we are talking about a terrorist attack in France, we must stress that this is the result of such a policy."
Muradova added that Azerbaijan protests the attempts to turn a blind eye on the violations of the international law, condemns the attempts against the peaceful coexistence of nations and territorial integrity of states and urges the West and Christian world, in general, to hold a single position.
“The trend of information and psychological terror against Muslims has long ago been observed in the world,” Muradova said. “This trend has accelerated following the Paris events.”
“If the act of terrorism in Paris was committed by French citizens, if it has been confirmed that they were in Syria and in other conflict zones before and were not punished for this, then it turns there was a policy and attitude supporting this activity,” she added.
She added that many issues need to be explained.
“How one should understand the accusations against the Islamic world, instead of accusing French citizens who committed this terror attack in the society named democracy, where there is freedom of expression, religion, views and conscience?!”
“Shouldn’t these activities be regarded as the attempts to create confrontation between Christian and Islamic worlds?” Muradova asked.
She said that sensible approach to the problem is needed while expressing emotions and protest.
“Politicians should understand that this is aimed at aggravating the problem, but not eliminating it,” Muradova said. “I believe there are also serious points here which should be clarified as well.”
