The population of Azerbaijan has increased by 106,100 people (1.1 percent) since early 2014, amounting to 9.583 million people as of December 1, 2014, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told on Jan. 19.
During this period the density of population in Azerbaijan amounted to 111 people per square kilometer, the State Statistics Committee said.

Around 1,011 women accounted for every 1,000 men in the country. The share of urban population was 53.2 percent, rural population - 46.8 percent.

Around 156,200 children were born in Azerbaijan for the first 11 months of 2014, including 53.6 percent - boys, 46.4 percent - girls.

Around 50,900 deaths have been registered in the country since early 2014.
