Obama not planning to visit Moscow
US President Barack Obama is yet not planning to come to Moscow in May to participate in the major celebrations to mark the 70th anniversary of victory over Nazi Germany in World War II, US Ambassador to Russia said on Tuesday.
John Tefft said he is not aware of such plans.

Asked if he is aware of any technical preparations for the possible visit, the US diplomat said as far as he knows there are no such plans.

A senior member of the international committee of Russia’s upper house, Igor Morozov, said in December Obama is making a “big strategic mistake” by turning down Moscow’s invitation.

This way Obama openly demonstrates that he puts his ambitions above the globally recognized humanitarian values, Morozov said.
