Azerbaijan has publicized the list of countries that will use ASAN Visa system

The following countries will be able to use ASAN Visa system:

The United States, Albania, Germany, Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, Brazil, Brunei, South Africa, Czech Republic, Chile, China, Denmark, Estonia, Algeria, Finland, France, India, Croatia, Indonesia, Jordan, Iran, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Israel, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, South Korea, Costa Rica, Cuba, Kuwait, Qatar, Guatemala, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Hungary, Macedonia, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Morocco, Monaco, Montenegro, Mongolia, Nepal, the Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Vatican, Vietnam, Japan, New Zealand, and Greece.

On June 1, 2016, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on simplification of e-visas issuance procedure and the creation of the ASAN Visa system. The State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan is to create the ASAN Visa system to issue e-visas for foreigners and stateless persons arriving in the Republic of Azerbaijan and ensure its management. The draft regulation on the ASAN Visa should be presented to Azerbaijani president in a month.

Functionally it should support the following operations: accept e-visa applications, process them (including the collection of state fees) and issue e-visa within 3 days with the sending to the applicant’s email address. According to the decree, the electronic visa is issued only to citizens included in the list of states approved by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as stateless persons residing in these countries.
