4 gunmen killed in shootout with police in Russia’s Chechnya
Police killed four armed men after they assaulted a police officer in the city of Grozny late on Saturday and stole his car, the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov told journalists.
Following the carjacking, the attackers trespassed into the house of another police officer, but he wasn’t at home at the time.

The police then sealed the traffic in the area and managed to pull over the vehicle with gang members who opened fire at law enforcement and attempted to run over a traffic police officer.

Four members of the gang were shot dead as police returned fire, while two were taken to hospital, Kadyrov said. Police have opened an investigation into the incident. Grozny is the capital of the Chechen Republic in Russia’s North Caucasus, and is home to some 290,000 people.
