Structure of Azerbaijan’s national airline AZAL expanded

By Decision #518 from 19 December 2016 the Cabinet Ministers of Azerbaijan endorsed the amendments to the Charter and the structure of Azerbaijani Airlines (AZAL).

According to the amendments, passenger airline Buta Airways has been included in the AZAL structure. Under the Decision, AZAL is tasked to solve the issues arising from the decision. Buta Airways is a new 100% low-cost airline subsidiary of Azerbaijan Airways.

The newly-established airline will be based at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Buta Airways will have a fleet on the basis of the Embraer aircraft with its own color, its staff and independent tariff policy. Buta Airways’ flights will be launched in autumn of 2017, abc.az reports.
