They made small talk and shook hands with their successors, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, before climbing aboard a helicopter. The Obamas plan to make their home in Washington, but are leaving town today for a vacation in California.
As a helicopter buzzed over the crowd on Pennsylvania Avenue, people pointed and yelled. “Bye, Obama,” they shouted. Some clapped and laughed.
