Rally held in front of Armenian government building
The representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, operating in the field of trade, are holding another protest in front of the Armenian government building, the Armenian media outlets reported.

The rally participants are protesting the amendments to the country’s tax legislation. In particular, they are boycotting against the amendments to Armenia’s “Law on Turnover Tax”, which are to take effect on Feb. 1.

Aleksandr Ghazaryan, the head of the department for reception of citizens and discussion of petitions, spoke with the protesters.

He proposed to form a group of 10 people for a meeting with the Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan. However, the protesters demand to cancel the amendments to the tax legislation.

In November 2014, Armenia’s parliament adopted draft amendments to the “Law on Turnover Tax”, according to which the turnover tax rate, applied to business entities operating in the field of trade, will be reduced from 3.5 percent to one percent, but documents circulation will be a mandatory condition.
