Iran respects all historical and geographical names and stands against any attempt to change these names, Mohammad Reza Najafi, spokesman for the Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan, told AzVision.az commenting the music group “The Voice of Artsakh” preparing to perform at a festival to be held in Tehran in connection with the Islamic Revolution anniversary.
He stressed that the changing of geographical names is against international law.
“We do not know any entity called Artsakh, nor does anyone else in Iran. On the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, groups from various countries perform in Iran. The embassy has informed Tehran in this regard. The issue is being investigated,” he added.
