Details emerge of preliminary talks on Azerbaijan-EU agreement
The preliminary talks on a new partnership agreement held between the EU and Azerbaijan in Brussels focused specifically on technical issues, Azerbaijani Deputy FM Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev told AzVision.az .
He said nothing substantive was discussed at the meeting.

According to him, Azerbaijan is still awaiting the EU stance regarding the submitted draft document.

"We are still awaiting their stance regarding to our draft document. They have not informed us so far. I told them in Brussels that we had to be informed in that regard so that we could ponder and then begin substantive talks,” he said.

Mammad-Guliyev went on to say that he also met with the person heading talks on the EU part.

“We had a meeting that lasted for about two hours. We discussed minor technical issues, in what form to hold the meeting, and organizing videoconferences. But the key issue is to learn their attitude toward our project,” said the deputy FM, adding. “The sooner they offer their proposals and corrections, the better will it be. We need some time. All authorities in Azerbaijan are involved in this affair. We have to hold serious talks and define our stance.”
