“We have not yet discussed this issue with the Azerbaijani government, but the negotiations in this area should be carried out by the central banks of the two countries,” said the minister.
Tayebnia said that today a meeting would be held with the Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Elman Rustamov.
“The meeting will discuss the expansion of cooperation in the banking sector, in particular in the development of operations between the banks of the two countries and the money transfers,” the minister said.
He added that the economic opportunities and the potential of the two countries contribute to the further development of ties and increasing the trade significantly.
Tayebnia said the Iranian companies have extensive experience in engineering and technology.
“They can take part in major projects and construction works implemented in Azerbaijan,” he added.
The minister also stressed that Iran can mediate in the supply of Azerbaijani goods by railway to the Gulf countries.
