World Famous Iranian-French photojournalist Reza Deghati presented his photos captured right after the Khojaly genocide.

Reza was born Tabriz from Azerbaijani origin, has covered much of the globe for National Geographic Magazine. Several films about Reza`s work have been produced by National Geographic Television, most notably Frontline Diaries, which won an Emmy Award in 2002. In 2003, Reza served as Creative Director for National Geographic`s most viewed documentary, Inside Mecca. As part of its Exceptional Journeys series, National Geographic released a DVD in May 2008 looking at Reza`s career as a photojournalist, with special features highlighting his extensive humanitarian work.

Armenian military forces committed genocide acts in the town of Khojaly, Azerbaijan, with the population of 7,000 people on Feb.26, 1992. There were 3,000 people in the town at the time of Armenian military forces` attack. Most part of the population had to leave town during four months blockade. 613 people were killed, 1,000 peaceful people of different age became invalid during Khojaly genocide.

106 women, 63 children, 70 old men were killed. 8 families were completely annihilated, 130 children lost one parent, while 25 both lost both parents. 1,275 peace residents were taken hostages, while the fate of 150 of them is still unknown.

After the Khojaly massacre, the International Red Cross organized a local cease-fire to allow both sides to exchange prisoners and to allow the Red Cross to bring the corpses of Azerbaijanis killed in Khojaly to Aghdam. The bodies were brought to the mosque in Aghdam, which served as a morgue for families to visit and search for their loved ones who had disappeared.
