Meanwhile, Azerbaijani positions located in the villages of Gaymagli, Ferehli of Gazakh district underwent fire from the positions located in the villages of Barekamavan, Shavarshavan of Armenia’s Noyemberyan district.
Azerbaijani forces located in the villages of Aghdam and Alibeyli of Tovuz district took fire from the positions located in the villages of Aygepar and Mosesgerh of Armenia’s Berd district.
Azerbaijani positions located on the nameless heights of Gadabay district underwent fire from the positions located on the nameless heights of Armenia’s Krasnoselskiy district.
At the same time, Azerbaijani positions took fire from the positions located near the villages of Goyarkh, Chileburt of Terter, Talish, Tapgaragoyunlu of Goranboy, Shuraabad, Bash Gervend, Sarijali, Javahirli, Yusifjanli of Aghdam, Kuropatkino of Khojavend, Horadiz, Ashagi Seyidahmadli of Fizuli and Mehdili of Jabrayil district.
Azerbaijani positions also underwent fire from the positions located on the nameless heights of Goranboy, Khojavend and Fizuli districts.
The opposing side was silenced with return fire.
The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan.
As a result of the ensuing war, in 1992 Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.
The two countries signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the US are currently holding peace negotiations.
Armenia has not yet implemented four UN Security Council resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
