Military exercises launched in Russia’s south

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is holding military exercises in the country’s south for the purpose of checking the combat readiness and performance of military units located in the Krasnodar and Stavropol krais, Astrakhan and Volgograd provinces, Garachay-Cherkez and Adygea, as well as Armenia and Abkhazia, RIA Novosti reported.
The exercises involve 6,000 servicemen and 1,500 pieces of military equipment.
