Receiving the Azerbaijani delegation, Poroshenko firstly requested to convey his warm greetings to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, as well as his congratulation to Mehriban Aliyeva on the occasion of her appointment as the first vice-president of Azerbaijan.
Expressing satisfaction with cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic and other spheres, as well as within international organizations, Poroshenko noted that his country attaches great importance to the expansion of relations with Azerbaijan and the availability of wide opportunities in this sphere.
Head of the Azerbaijani delegation, Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev, for his part, thanked the Ukrainian president for the warm welcome and conveyed the greetings of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
During the meeting, it was noted that the two countries cooperate successfully within international organizations such as the United Nations, OSCE and Council of Europe, and support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each other.
