As a result of the investigation three people including citizen of the Republic of Armenia Samvel Babayan were arrested over a criminal case for smuggling Igla antiaircraft missile complex into the Republic of Armenia.
`Operative-investigative measures show that the individuals responsible for the acquisition and transportation of the parts of the mentioned antiaircraft missile complex operated in line with an in-advance agreement with Samvel Babayan and upon his request. The missile complex is in a fit state and is considered ammunition. On March 24, Babayan and two others sentenced to two months detention. `, the report says made by the NSS.
Earlier Samvel Babayan announced that he does not admit charges levied against him and he considered it obviously baseless. However, during the testimony he and his two allies confessed their attempt in smuggling.
