Armenia detains participant of riots held at Russia
Armenia detained one of the participants of the riots held in front of the consulate general of Russia.
The Russian news agency Interfax reported citing the Armenian Investigative Committee that Mnatsakan Aleksyanyan was detained as part of a criminal case launched into the riots held in front of Russia’s consulate general in Armenia’s second largest city of Gyumri.

A criminal case was launched into “hooliganism” and “the use of violence against a representative of power.”

The riots occurred in Gyumri following a mass rally, the participants of which were demanding that the Russian serviceman, Valery Permyakov, who is accused of killing seven people from one family, to be judged by the Armenian court.
