Stockholm Municipality has now begun to clear the area that had been cordoned off since Friday’s attack, in which a truck rove into the Åhlens department store, killing four.
“We are moving the flowers to the Sergel steps near Kulturhuset, so those who wish to do so can lay flowers there today,” Jurdell said.
Authorities hope that the work will be finished by 2pm Sunday, when the municipality will be involved in a memorial ceremony at the Sergels Torg plaza near where the truck used in the terrorist attack on Drottninggatan crashed.

It will also be possible to write messages of condolence at both Kulturhuset and City Hall throughout the day, reports TT.
The municipality has also announced that it would open a crisis management and counselling centre, which will be located at Hantverkargatan 3D in the Kungsholmen district.
One of the people helping to move the flowers told TT that being involved in the work to clear the city was “very emotional”.
“You can’t help thinking of the terrible things that have happened, the people who were here. We have been instructed to do it in a way that honours the people that have died,” said José Morales.
There was no choice but to move the flowers, soft toys and candles – laid by hundreds of Stockholmers as well as Crown Princess Victoria, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven and other politicians, said Morales.
“It is what it is. We need to move them,” he said.
