Final decision to be made on case of `Chiragov and others v. Armenia`
The European Court of Human Rights will make a final decision on the case of `Chiragov and others v. Armenia`, Fakhraddin Pashayev, IDP from Lachin region told to AzVision.az.

`The European Court will make a final decision, as no agreement is reached with Armenia`, he noted.

`The European Court of Human Rights gave time to the sides for agreement. However, the Armenian side asked for time. Although both sides noted that they would decide on new mechanism for payment, no agreement was reached. The case is now under the authority of the European Court and a decision will be made until 6 months and a year. A concrete decision on compensation should be made. We wait for this decision.

A long time has passed since the positive decision (July 16, 2015) of the European Court of Human Rights on Azerbaijani IDP`s complaint - `Chiragov and others v Armenia`. The case covers 6 Azerbaijani refugees` claim against Armenia on April 6, 2005 who have been unable to return to their properties from where they were forced to flee in 1992 during the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.

The European Court ascertained that citizens must reach to an agreement with the responsible state on the amount of compensation during the period of 12 months. If the agreement is not reached, the European court will make a decision on the case.
