President Ilham Aliyev launched newly reconstructed Varvara Hydroelectric Power Station

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the newly reconstructed Varvara Hydroelectric Power Station as part of his visit to Yevlakh.

President of Azerenerji OJSC Etibar Pirverdiyev informed the head of state of reconstruction work at the station. He said the power station will generate annual 100 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. Reconstruction work involved more than 150 local specialists.

The President attended the opening of Mingachevir-Mingachevir station section of Mingachevir-Bahramtapa highway.

The head of state viewed stands highlighting technical indicators of the road.

Chairman of Azeravtoyol OJSC Saleh Mammadov informed the President that this stretch of the road is 16.5km in length. The width of the two-lane road is 7.5m.

Reconstruction of Mingachevir-Mingachevir station section of Mingachevir-Bahramtapa highway has ensured citizens` easy access to Baku-Alat-Gazakh-Georgia state border highway.

Later the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the inauguration of Salahli-Balchili-Aghgiragli-Varvara-Jirdakhan highway in Yevlakh district.

Chairman of Azeravtoyol OJSC Saleh Mammadov informed the President of redevelopment of the 18km long highway. The two-lane road is 6m in width.

Salahli-Balchili-Aghgiragli-Varvara-Jirdakhan highway links six villages with a total population of 8,000 people.

President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the road.
