Erdogan slams 'political' Council of Europe decision
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday criticized the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe's (PACE) decision to put Turkey on a political monitoring watch list.
Ankara does not recognize the "entirely political" decision, Erdogan told Reuters, AzVision.az reported.

Erdogan said France has now been enforcing a state of emergency for a year and a half since the Nov. 2015 Paris terror attacks, and Sunday's first round of the country's presidential elections was held under a state of emergency. “Why such a decision is not passed on France? Turkey has declared a state of emergency to prevent the coup attempt. The country is weeding out FETÖ members,” he said.

The president said Turkey is not going to close its doors to migrants from Syria and Iraq. “We can’t isolate those fleeing bombs,” he noted.
