Permyakov not to avoid penal liability in Russia – ex prosecutor general
Convicts' extradition to their country of citizenship is in line with the international convention adopted in 1946, a former prosecutor general said today, commenting on the decision to extradite Valery Permyakov, the Russian serviceman convicted over the murder of a seven-member family in Gyumri.
Speaking to reporters at the National Assembly, Gevorg Kostanyan said he is confident that Permyakov will not avoid criminal liability in his home country.

“Our citizens convicted in other states are similarly extradited to Armenia,” he noted.

Permmyakov, who was sentenced for life in Armenia, was handed over to the Russian law enforcement authorities on Thursday in accordance with the 1998 Moscow convention on the extradition of lifetermers.
