South Korean fishing vessel likely hijacked by Somalian pirates
A fishing vessel belonging to South Korea might have been hijacked near Somalian coast by the pirates.
According to the Yonhap news agency, citing a source in the South Korean Foreign Ministry on Saturday, Seoul's naval unit Cheonghae was deployed to the site after the ship went out of the contact.

The vessel reportedly had both South Korean and foreign crew members on board.

Somalia has been plagued by civil war since 1991. Years of lawlessness and corruption have provided pirates with ample opportunities to hijack international ships for ransom with relative impunity.
