Head of the European Union Azerbaijan representation Ms. Malena Mard said the project is the first project of the European Union on higher education. Expressing confidence for strengthening the ties between the European Union and Azerbaijan, the Ambassador wished the conference success.
Estonian Chargé d'Affaires to Azerbaijan Mr. Indrek Kiverik considered the Project completed successfully would be a good chance for Finnish and Estonian experts to share their experiences with Azerbaijani colleagues.
The application issues of the recommendations provided within the conference and gained achievements for further adherence of higher education in Azerbaijan were debated in the conference. Important issues such as the quality provision, international mobility and cooperation, independence of universities and closer cooperation among the higher education institutions in Azerbaijan were discussed.
Experts of the Twinning Project and the representatives of pilot universities and assessment groups made presentations in the conference. Commenting on the prepared guidelines, the Ministry of Education and Accreditation and Nostrification Department exchanged views with the Higher Education Community.
The final conference of the Twinning Project will be held on June 29.
The two-year pilot project has been implemented at UNEC, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and the Technical University of Azerbaijan.
