Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry removes Russian citizen from blacklist
Artemy Lebedev has apologized to the Azerbaijani people, expressing respect to Azerbaijan
Artemy Lebedev, a Russian citizen who had violated the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on state border by making an illegal visit to occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan and thus his name had been included in the “undesired persons” list compiled by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, has submitted an appeal to the Azerbaijani side in order for his name to be removed from the list, the Foreign Ministry told.

In his letter, Lebedev confirms his visit to occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan in July 2010, noting his unawareness that he was required to get an official permission from relevant authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the end of his letter, Lebedev apologizes to the Azerbaijani people, expressing respect to the territorial integrity, sovereignty and laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He stressed that he would avoid ever making a visit to occupied territories without coordination with the Republic of Azerbaijan, asking his name be removed from the “undesired persons” list.

After a duly review on Lebedev’s appeal, his name was removed from the “undesired persons” list.
