At the initiative of the Alliance founder Anar Mammadov within this campaign hundreds of ads under the heading "Khojaly; A Human Tragedy Against Azerbaijan" will be placed in Washington and New York. For several days, in center of the famous New York Times Square a monitor has been installed to demonstrate a graphic display, reflecting the statistics of the Khojaly Genocide. Times Square is one of the busiest intersections in the world and a neighborhood in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, and it’s called the “Crossroads of the World”.
Screen broadcasts dedicated to Khojaly genocide were installed between 46th and 47th streets of “Broadway Street”.
This campaign is aimed to cover a large audience in Times Square, hence demonstrated screen broadcasts will be viewed by 1.5 million per day, approximately 11 million people per week.
Another aspect of the campaign is that the information about the Khojaly genocide will be projected in the central streets of New York on buildings located in central streets using mobile projections.
A poster with the image proclaiming the truth about the Khojaly will move around many heavily trafficked and iconic locations targeted by the campaign by transportation vehicles. These vehicles will project the poster at nights and evenings on the sides of crowded buildings to focus the attention to the history of Azerbaijan.
As part of Alliance’s familiarizing campaign, cube mounted screens on transportation vehicles will move in the central streets of New York to raise awarenes about the Khojaly tragedy.
In addition to the above-mentioned actions, 180 degrees rolling video posters were installed to demonstrate video spots on the monitors to allow people standing see the broadcasts.
Traditionally, the New York City subway stations are covered with the Khojaly realities. New York ranks first in the world in the number of subway stations. Every day 6 million passengers use the New York stations.
Demonstrated posters will be in the most visible, accessible points of metro stations starting from March 1 to raise awareness of the events that happened in Khojaly, 22 years agoand recognize these events as genocide against the Azerbaijani people.
The campaign, which started in New York will be continued in Washington state.
