"In 2015-2016, we received UAH 600 million or about 15% of the total sum we needed. There were plans to assign UAH 2.194 billion in that period. Some UAH 200 million were assigned for the project in 2017, and budgetary amendments added another UAH 300 million. In all, we are expecting to receive UAH 500 million this year or 55% of the funds we need for this year alone," Tsyhykal said.
The project has been underfinanced, which slows down the works, he said. "As to what we have done, 274.6 kilometers of anti-tank ditches have been dug, 47.1 kilometers of exclusion zones have been created, 84 kilometers of fences have been installed, and 179.9 kilometers of belt roads have been built," he said.
The project is being implemented on the border with Russia in Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Luhansk regions. The works are due to end in Kharkiv region late this year, Tsyhykal said.

The State Border Service of Ukraine is set to spend about UAH 500 million on Project Wall in 2017, service head Petro Tsyhykal told Interfax-Ukraine in an interview.
