Azerbaijan is a brotherly country for Turkmenistan - President Berdimuhamedov
“Azerbaijan is a brotherly country for us. Turkmenistan attaches great importance to bilateral relations with Azerbaijan,” said President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as he made a press statement following his meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku.
“Our countries and nations are bound by centuries-old traditions of good neighbourliness, common history, culture, language and spiritual values. We strongly preserve and enrich this legacy in accordance with the present realities. Our main goal is to hand down our traditions and our highest values to next generations.”

President Berdimuhamedov said that during the discussions the two countries agreed to further develop and encourage relations in the cultural, humanitarian, scientific, educational and sport areas. He hailed the Baku meetings, adding that they resulted in the signing of a large package of bilateral documents.
