Turkey building wall on border with Iran
Turkey is building a wall on the border with Iran, the Turkish media reported Aug. 8. According to the reports, the wall is being constructed in the Turkish province of Agri.
The width of the wall is two meters and the height - three meters.

Governor of the Agri province Suleyman Elban has today reviewed the pace of construction.

Earlier, Turkey built a 239-kilometer wall on the border with Syria, to amplify its own security.

According to the reports, another wall is planned to be built in other provinces bordering Syria and the length of the new wall can reach up to 207 kilometers.

Such a decision was made as part of strengthening the fight against terrorism, as members of terrorist organizations from Syria regularly attempt to penetrate into the territory of Turkey.

Syria has been suffering from the armed conflict since March of 2011, which, according to the UN, has claimed over 500,000 lives.

Militants from various armed groups are confronting the Syrian government troops. The IS, YPG and PYD are the most active terrorist groups in Syria.
