Russian Air Force to Conduct Three Major Contests in 2015
"In 2015 the Russian Air Force will conduct three major competitions including the Aviadarts air and field contest, the Klyuchi ot Neba contest in the anti-aircraft missile forces and a radio-radar forces contest. The competitions are scheduled for late-June 2015," Klimov said.
The contest in the anti-aircraft missile forces will include S-400 Triumf, S-300PM-1, S-300PS and Panzir-S1 missile systems of Air Force and air defense units from all military districts, the Naval Forces and the Aerospace Defense Forces.
The competition will be held at the Telemba military range in Buryatia where participants will simulate an air defense battle and will fire at various targets.
The radio-radar forces during their competition will repel an attack of spies and infiltrators and deploy Kasta 2-2, Nebo-M radar locators of the Air Force and air defense units from all military districts, the Naval Forces and the Aerospace Defense Forces. The competition will take place at the Ashuluk range in the Astrakhan region.
According to tradition, the 2015 Aviadarts will include crews of fighter, bomber, assault, army, transport and long-range aviation. For the competition, a special target layout will be created at the Dubovichi air force range in the Ryazan region.
The Aviadarts contest was invented in Russia. It is an air crew competition in accuracy of missile and gun firing. In 2014, over 80 crews from Russia, China and Belarus took part in the competition.
