Azerbaijan capable of playing larger role in making region more peaceful – US ambassador
The United States is committed to working with its partners within the framework of the Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process to lay the foundation to greater stability, security and prosperity in Afghanistan and in the broader region, U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta said on Friday, AzVision.az reported.
The ambassador praised Azerbaijan’s role in the Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process, reiterating U.S. support to Azerbaijan’s efforts towards restoring peace in Afghanistan.

Ambassador Cekuta said provision of security and peace is one of the areas the U.S. and Azerbaijan cooperate in. He added that the U.S. and Azerbaijan have done a lot with regard to Afghanistan as well.

“Azerbaijan has shown that it is capable of playing a larger role in making Afghanistan and the region more peaceful,” stressed the ambassador.
