Leyla Aliyeva initiates charitable blood donation campaign in Moscow
Vice-president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva initiates charitable blood donation campaign in Moscow.
Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, chairperson of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AYOR) Leyla Aliyeva has initiated a charitable blood donation campaign in Moscow.

Called “Blood has no nationality”, the campaign was supported by I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.

The campaign involved nearly 100 students from higher educational institutions in Moscow, including nationals of Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and Uzbekistan.

The campaign also involved staffers of Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Russia.

In 2005, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva launched “Life Without Thalassemia” project, which marked a turning point in the fight against thalassemia in Azerbaijan.

In 2009, the Baku Thalasssemia Center opened in Azerbaijan as part of the project.
