Armenia - cause of problems in South Caucasus, Turkish FM says
Armenia is the cause of problems in the South Caucasus, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was quoted March 13 by the Turkish Anadolu news agency as saying.
He said that despite Turkey has repeatedly held out the hand of friendship to the Armenians, the country’s authorities rejected this in every way.

“Armenia, having problems with relations with all neighboring countries, must reconsider its foreign policy,” Davutoglu said.

As for the events of 1915, Cavusoglu said that Ankara hopes for an unchanged position of the US authorities in relation to the events of 1915, otherwise the relations between Washington and Ankara may greatly deteriorate.

Earlier, while talking about the events of 1915, US President Barack Obama did not pronounce the word "genocide".

Armenia and the Armenian lobby claim that Turkey`s predecessor, the Ottoman Empire allegedly carried out ”genocide” against the Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915. Turkey in turn has always denied "the genocide" took place.
