SOCAR: Oil price decline will not impede realization of Southern Gas Corridor
The Southern Gas Corridor may be unattractive on the background of oil price decline. However, this does not mean that the plans on its realization should be reviewed, said the SOCAR`s Vice President of Investment and Marketing Elshad Nasirov in his article published in the Financial Times newspaper.
“SOCAR delays several projects for realization of this project”, he said.

The Vice-President added that on the background of oil price decline, the SOCAR is reviewing the issue on financing of its equity in Shah Deniz 2 project. The company will provide its participation in the project through own funds, especially SOFAZ resources.

Along with this, Nasirov noted that another problem is that the new Greek government tries to review the conditions for participation in the project as a transit country.
