Iranian President highlights openness towards West

Iranian President highlights openness towards West

Iran`s newly elected president, Hassan Rouhani, took to Twitter on Tuesday to convince the world - and especially the U.S. - of his `moderate` stance and willingness to engage with the West.

On his English-language Twitter account, Rouhani tweeted a photo of himself in 2003 visiting an American hospital set up in Iran`s southeast after a devastating earthquake had hit the city of Bam.

As the New York Times explains, Rouhani visited the field hospital while touring the disaster zone as Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council. "Mr. Rouhani made it a point to visit it and take photographs with American doctors," the newspaper adds.
