Erdogan recalled of the role of Caucasian Islamic Army in the liberation of Baku in 1918.
“The Turkish and Azerbaijani people have fought side-by-side for the liberation of Baku, Derbent and Dagestan. Anatolian people have always felt the pain of our brothers who were subjected to oppression in Karabakh. We make no distinction between our compatriots in Kars, Igdir, Erzurum and our brothers in Nakhchivan. For us, Baku is the same with Izmir, Istanbul, Ankara and Antalya. We are not enemies with anyone, but it is our duty to protect the rights of our brothers and avenge the bloodshed. We have been and will always be close to our brothers,” the president noted.
Erdogan said he hopes TANAP to be beneficial for Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia and European partners: “We are laying the foundation of TANAP to deliver natural gas to Europe via Turkey”.
