Azerbaijan, Turkey discuss interparliamentary ties
Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Parliament Ogtay Asadov has met with a delegation led by Turkish Minister of Labour and Social Security Julide Sarieroglu.

The speaker of the Parliament said that Azerbaijan and Turkey are two brotherly countries, adding the two countries are bound together by common roots, history and rich cultural values.

Asadov noted that high-level reciprocal visits, especially sincere relations between the heads of state play a key role in developing the bilateral ties. The speaker recalled Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s participation in the opening ceremony of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and the last visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Turkey. He added that relations between the two countries have recently reached a qualitatively new level.

Turkish Minister of Labour and Social Security Julide Sarieroglu underlined the importance of her first visit to Azerbaijan in terms of developing relations between the two countries` relevant authorities.

The Turkish minister hailed the role of the parliaments in expanding the brotherly and friendly relations. Minister Sarieroglu said she is proud to be in the Milli Majlis of independent Azerbaijan.

“The Turkish Government is eager to develop cooperation with Azerbaijan in a variety of fields,” she added.
