Palestinian killed in Israeli army arrest raid in West Bank
A 33-year-old Palestinian man has been killed in disputed circumstances during an arrest raid by Israeli troops in the West Bank.

The Israeli military says Palestinians attacked troops during Thursday’s raid in the town of Jericho. A statement says an armed man tried to grab a soldier’s gun. It says the man “was injured and received medical treatment” from troops at the scene and that his “death was later announced.”

The army did not say how the man was injured or what weapon he allegedly carried.

The family of Yassin al-Saradih says he was beaten during the arrest.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA quoted a relative, Ismail al-Masri, as saying soldiers beat al-Saradih “as soon as he approached his uncle’s house to check why the army was raiding it.”
