President Aliyev also spoke about the first European Games and the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Azerbaijan.
“Such events bring together representatives of different nationalities and people of different minds,” he said.
The head of state also stressed the importance of the Baku Process.
"The Baku Process, which began in 2008, is a very important process. Great work is being done to reach understanding between peoples and states. Our efforts are aimed at strengthening stability, security and mutual understanding,” he added.
Speaking of the tolerant atmosphere prevailing in Azerbaijan, President Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan sets an example to the world in this respect.
President Aliyev went on to add that Azerbaijan has already hosted many international events.
"Among them are - traditional Baku Humanitarian Forum, regular International Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, World Religious Leaders forum, UN Alliance of Civilizations Global Forum," he said.
"All these events serve the cause of cooperation, these events build bridges, establish more understanding between representatives of different countries, different religious, different views," he said.
The head of state thanked the co-chairs and participants of the 6th Global Baku Forum.

The 6th Global Baku Forum has kicked off in Baku on March 15.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and FIrst Lady Mehriban Aliyeva are attending the opening ceremony of the forum.
